This small release fixes a number of bugs (especially “Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated”) and brings some new enhancements to the extension:
- Added the possibility to show a thumbnail of uploaded images in the preview.
- Added the option to call a hook function after the form has been successfully submitted.

A new major version of CWT Community has just been released. Most of the changes have been made to the extension’s core: first of all the whole extension has been logically divided in different components (so one for the userlist, one for messaging capabilities etc.). Moreover the code will feel more like Model View Controller (MVC) than ever.
The second dramatic change is that the Community will completely rely on Smarty (see http://www.smarty.net/) templating from now on. With Smarty you will be able to customize the HTML templates in no time and can add new features without touching the code of the Community itself.
So most of the new features have been made to speed up the development of new custom Community websites and to MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER! I hope you’ll enjoy the new version!

Sebastian

Some people are reporting problems with FE users that are being logged when accessing one of the pages that contain CWT Community. I could reproduce the problem locally and found a viable solution for most scenarios. In case your installation is affected by this error, please try to set the following Typoscript variable (in your root template or in an extension template for example):
plugin.tx_cwtcommunity_pi1.common.killDuplicateUserSessions = 0

Since CWT Community 1.1.x has been released a few days ago, I would like to give you some impressions on the new features.
The new version features a new view, that enables you users to send private messages to multiple recipients or to all of their buddies.

The private message will show up in the recipients inbox as before:

Another nice function is the newly created sorting function on the userlist page. Now, one may sort the Community users by any column ascending or descending. Of course, this function may also be used for your custom columns (see CUSTOM MARKER chapter in the official documentation).

Finally I’d like to highlight the enhanced privacy functions for your Community’s users. Each FE user is now able to control who may see their whole profile page. Additionally each FE user may hide itself from the userlist page.

I hope you enjoy the new version of CWT Community as much as I do.

Sebastian

It took some more weeks than expected to finish the work on CWT Community 1.1.0, but finally, it has just arrived in TER!
Besides a lot of bugfixes this brand new version of the Community has some new features as well. First of all I have added a new messaging view which enables users to send messages to multiple users and even to all of their buddies at once. Additionally the userlist view has a sorting option now and you may configure notification e-mails (that are sent, when a private message has arrived) and….a lot more cool stuff!

A new version of my Typo3 extension CWT Community has just been released. Version 1.0.4 only contains security fixes, so it will be absolutely safe to upgrade. The extension has been tested extensively and is a absolute must-have for your Typo3 extension.
You may find the related “official” Typo3 security bulletin here: http://typo3.org/teams/security/security-bulletins/typo3-sa-2009-006/. Finally I would like to encourage you to report any security issues to me immediately (sebastian.faulhaber@gmx.de). - I will try to fix them as soon as possible. Thanks!
Regards,
Sebastian
P.S.: Now that version 1.0.4 is out the next version is not far away.
You may find more information on the Community’s changelog page.

An incompatibility between CWT Community v1.0.3 and the extension “CWT Community Internal Message with BB-Codes v0.0.1″ (extension key: cwt_community_im_bb) has been detected. The installation of “CWT Community Internal Message….” will break your Community installation: you will only see a blank page when accessing a page containing a CWT Community plugin.

Recommendation: Do not use the extension “cwt_community_im_bb” (version: 0.0.1) together with CWT Community v1.0.3.
